The Case

At approx. 3:40am on an icy December morning, Fauna the doe was killed in a tragic car accident. The car in question was left at the scene, torched in an attempt to destroy any evidence. As of right now we do not know who the car belongs to and are trying to find it’s owner.

We are certain that the culprit is a resident of Tarnio and as soon as we find out who owns that car, we’ll have our killer.

Your job as the Detective Constable is to assist DCI Wolfgang with his investigation and find out what happened to Fauna.

But be wary… the island is said to be haunted, or at the very least there’s something strange that resides there amongst the residents. Tread carefully when exploring and try not to expose too much about the island’s past or you may find yourself caught up in it’s shady goings on…

DCI Wolfgang’s Notes

“Hey there, Rookie. Oh, sorry, Detective Constable. Detective Chief Inspector Wolfgang here. I heard they were sending over some fresh meat to help me out over here on Tarnio. This case has got me stumped. It’s a real doozy. Kind of a weird one actually… Do you think you can handle it? Tarnio isn’t a regular island after all. Uh-huh?...Splendid! Then take a look at these case files. If you notice anything I’m missing, feel free to tell me how bad I am at my job, yada-yada… honestly, these higher-ups need to stop butting in and let me just do my job alone.

Oh, what, nothing. Just hurry will you? We don’t need anyone else going missing.”

Chief

Lobo’s son - the radio host from Tarnio FM that went missing back in the late 80’s.
Alcoholic
Keeps to himself, but I guess when you’re living off your late father’s wealth you don’t need friends.

Owner of The Winchester pub
We think he’s a zombie…
He doesn’t like a lot of people. Best to stay out of his way…

Zell

He moved here a few years back in search of his girlfriend, Shino who went missing. That case is long closed. She’s gone, but he refuses to let it go. You’ll see her posters scattered all over the island. Poor guy is never going to find her.
Since he lives here now, he took over the potion shop
He’s a nice guy, it’s a sad story really…

Guy loves making BBQ food and chilli. I always smell it upwind from my house.
He seems a little….off. Can’t put my finger on it.

Local witch and true crime obsessed
She buys all her potion ingredients from Zell. Girl 100% has a crush on him…
She tears down any Shino missing poster she finds. Maybe she knows more than she’s letting on?

Walker

He’s, well… he’s a strange one.
Obsessed with VHS TVs. Like really, REALLY obsessed. I think he used to work at that old Zipper’s Electronics store back in the day before it shut down.
He was closest to Fauna, from what he says. Took her death pretty hard.
I know he says he’s been here for years but, you know….I really don’t know much about him.

“You get a good look at those suspects? What do you think, any immediate culprits spring to mind? No? Bah, I knew sending more clueless rookies wouldn’t help, I’ll never find the killer…Huh? Oh, nothing. Look, make yourself useful and explore the island, would you? And there’s some clothes wrapped up over there for you to try on. Bound to be something there you like. Now I’ll warn you again, Tarnio is NOT a normal island. There’s some spooky shit going down here. So if you’re a yellow-blooded coward, I suggest you leave right now. No? Ok well, it’s your funeral.

Go on then, get going. Oh, and if you see any of the island reps wandering about, I suggest you speak to them. They might have some clues that will help you with the case.”
