Post jobs on the University’s Employee Center for all employee groups

Analyze and process all new hires, rehires, and transfers for all groups at the University

Order Background Checks through HireRight

Create and Send offer letters for Civil Service, P&A (non-teaching) and Labor Represented employee groups (All other offer letters are done by the units)

Identify if an I9 is needed. It is the unit’s responsibility to ensure the I9 is completed before or on the employee’s first day of employment

What does this look like

  • Requestor is anyone who is submitting the TDX Request form
  • Supervisors, managers, faculty, administrators, or HR Staff
  • TDX request for hiring, terminating, or changing appointments

  • Receives and reviews TDX Tickets
  • Completes the task in PeopleSoft or Recruiting Solutions
  • Will partner with other departments as needed such as Talent Acquisition, Comp and Class, or others.
  • Full cycle recruiting from intake to extending an offer

  • Background Check (Outside of new hire process)
  • End Appointment (including retirement and layoffs)
  • Hire (Post a Position and Hire an Employee)
  • Mass Changes (large volume -10+ - of common transactions)
  • Modify Appointment (position, job, compensations changes)
  • Payroll Accounting
  • Person of Interest (add, maintain, or inactivate)
  • Reclassification
  • Suspended Employee (update to Suspended or inactive employee)

      • Purpose of the form and the associated requests
      • What you need to Get Started
      • Any related resources for the request

When Completing a TDX Form

  1. Start at the top of the form and don’t skip fields
  2. Make sure to click all gold buttons
  3. Fields will pre-populate based on information from a previous field
  4. Select dropdown arrows to see all options
  5. Help text is available:

Demo #1

Post a Position

  • Manager needs to create a new position in their Administrative Department.
  • This is a full-time, Civil Service position using job code Admin Associate 2 (8208A2).
  • Manager has received the required approvals within their campus/college/unit from their unit HR and finance department (if applicable).
  • The Post a Position TDX may now be completed and submitted.

Demo #2

Modify Appointment

  • A faculty employee is approved for a payment equal to 2 weeks salary for professional activities outside of the employee’s regular job duties (e.g. additional instruction)
  • The activity will not put the employee over 100% time (Earnings Code = ART)
  • The pay will applied to the next pay period and is funded differently from the employee’s regular earnings.
  • You want to include someone from finance as a contact for this financial request and you have the chartstring information
  • The Modify Appointment TDX may now be completed and submitted.

Practice in the TDX Sandbox

  • Look for an email with a link to what we call the TDX Sandbox. This is a training environment that looks just like the real TDX form environment but is a safe place to make mistakes and practice. Not available 10/18.
  • We will provide some real-world example scenarios that you can use to practice submitting TDX forms in the sandbox environment.
