Dear John,

Thanks for your letter. How are things ? I hope you are well. Sorry for not writing earlier but I am very busy with my studying. It was great to hear that you won the short story competition. You must have been very happy. Send me your story. I would like to read it !

Well, here I am in Australia. I have been here for about three weeks now, studying at the South Pacific college. It is very modern and the teachers are really friendly, although it is not always easy to understand their accents. They have got lots of equipment and we even have computers in the classroom for surfing the Internet. I think that is my favourite one. Sometimes, the teacher gives us a question and we have to find the answer online. It is great for my English!

It is not all fun, though. The thing I really do not like is that they give us lots of homework ! I probably do about three hours every night. At least we are free at the weekend. This weekend, we are going on a trip around Sydney harbour. Should be a lot of fun.

I have to finish now because I have a test tomorrow and I have to study. Write soon and tell me all your news. Send my best regards to your parents. Keep in touch.

Love,

Paulo
