Covid-19 Updates

  • The Oshawa Campus Library is open:
    • Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 6:00pm
    • Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30pm
    • Hours will change April 26

Evaluating a source – Author

One way to evaluate the quality of an information source is to take a close look at the author.

  • Does the source have a named author?
  • What level or type of knowledge does the author have in this subject area?
    • Are they a journalist, researcher, professional working in the industry?

Author Ranking Activity

On the Google form:

  • List of authors who have written about robotic assistive limbs
  • Read about their background (Journalist? Researcher? Working in the Engineering or Medical field?)
  • Give them a score of 1, 2 or 3 based on what you think their level of knowledge about robotic assistive limbs
