All camps are residential. This mean that those who participate, called ‘campers’, live in the venue for the week.

While oriented toward Catholic Youth, Camp Veritas has always been accepting of young people between the ages of 12 and 17 of other Christian denominations and of no religion who earnestly wish to explore the Catholic Faith and who have their parents’ / guardians’ consent.

It is important to note however, that Camp Veritas offers a Catholic summer camp experience that includes Eucharistic-centred worship and evangelization; teaching moments that draw on the riches of The Catechism of the Catholic Church and Magisterium (teaching of the Popes and Bishops over the centuries), and lots of informal and friendly contact with committed priests, religious and lay women and men.

CLONGOWES’ FACILITIES AND CAMP ACTIVITIES

Chapels: places of prayer, worship, singing and learning

Canteen: excellent food, choices at every meal

Pitches/Astro-turf: Hurling, Football, Soccer, Rugby, Rounders, Frisbee

Campers are divided into groups comprising 8-12 young people of the same age and gender.

Each group is supported by two leaders, generally aged 18-25. Most leaders were campers themselves who return to give back to the camp they love!

What is Camp Veritas like?

“Pray and Play!”

Mornings and Afternoons are for forging friendships in the midst of fun activities, sports and other activities.

Late afternoons and evenings are for encountering Jesus through times of prayer, and for learning through testimonies, talks and presentations about how our Catholic Faith helps us live happy, meaningful and fulfilling lives.

There are also free times throughout each day and evening.
