Here’s a graphical representation to understand the performance improvement with DD9910F over equivalent capacity HDD appliance thats DD9910.

The Orange represents DD 9910. And in the blue we have DD9910F, here we did multiple stream iterations with multiple generations of backup data with change rate and then this graph has been plotted. With the DD9910F we have got a dramatic 4 x improvement with the restore performance when reading the data to do a recovery compared to HDD appliance.

The beauty with all flash is , It peaks quickly and sustains that value. Here we can see it gets up to 60 TB/hr, and it pretty much maintains that across the board until the restore is completed. It maintains that high level and that’s where we see 4 x improvement.

Similarly, with replication we 2x improvement where with Managed File Replication , we are able to see DD9910F able to achieve upto almost 600TB/hr

Top & boto�Now Let’s see more in detail how Cyber Resiliency is improved with DD9910F

First & foremost is to Reduce the attack surface: We talked earlier about the native security features that DD9910F supports . These ‘controls’ all serve to help reduce the overall attack surface of the solution in an iterative fashion. In the context of the Cyber Recovery solution, time matters!. The longer the vault is open, the greater the exposure to bad actors. To minimize the time the vault is open between the production side and the vault, DD9910F performs Mtree replication/Sync operation 2X faster. The net result is that the vault remains open for half the time, thus securing the vault.
Detect & Respond To Cyber Threats: Ingesting data into the vault is one piece, it is equally of critical importance that we understand that the PIT copy we have created is ‘clean’ from infection’. In the event of an attack, we need to know that our recovery copy is not polluted. Again, speed is a key metric here. The quicker we can validate data integrity in the vault the better. In testing, we have achieved up 2.8X faster anylitics performance with the DD9910F versus the 9910.
Recover from an Attack: Once we know we have a clean, validated copy, the next step is to perform a restore, either within the vault itself or back into production. There are a different ways and strategies to do this but all will clearly benefit by the 4X greater restore speeds that the all-flash Data Domain appliance DD9910 offers.

Hence. speed, read and write performance is crucial within the vault in order to meet business level objectives governing incident response and recovery times and associated SLA’s which we are able to achieve with DD9910F
