Please remember to bring your children to school on time each morning. Our day starts at 8:00 AM, except for Wednesdays when it starts at 9:00 AM. Being on time for morning meetings is very important. It helps set a positive tone for the day, provides essential information, and allows students to connect with their classmates and teachers. Your cooperation makes the day better for everyone. Thank you!

Our writers continue to develop their true stories. They are learning to organize their writing in a sequence and to add details to make it more interesting to the readers.

We are focusing on building a reading life. 3rd graders understand that choosing a quiet and comfortable spot, checking for comprehension, and reading as if books are gold is very important. They understand that they are now reading with the objective to learn something new.

Before third graders start using their Chromebooks we will learn about the rules and responsibilities of using an online device. While technology is amazing for students to explore, connect, create, and learn in new ways, it is also challenging to face issues such as online safety, privacy, misinformation, and digital distraction.

For this reason, students will learn how what they do online can impact not only themselves but their community, and even the world.

We continue to focus on using different math manipulatives to understand the value of each digit in a number. We are also working on reading word problems several times to fully understand the story, what the question is, and what equations they need to do.Family Letter 3.1

Dear Grade 3 Community,

Happy Friday, Everyone! We are already three weeks into the school year. This week, we will be continuing our Digital Citizenship Lessons in order to prepare for getting Chromebooks on Friday.

Kindly,

Grade 3 team

Library day for 3A is on Wednesdays and for 3B is on Fridays. Please ensure your child brings their library books so they can check out new ones.

Note: They can bring their books when they’re done reading, they don’t need to wait until their Library Day!

Upcoming Assessments: In the next few weeks, we will be assessing the students to help us understand their needs and skills in different subject areas. Please send your child to school ON TIME each day.
