Educator Preparation Policy

  • Proposal to remove edTPA as a requirement for teacher licensure, coupled with increased requirements for the clinical experience/clinical mentors.
  • Requirement for mentors to be involved in formal observation process of teacher candidates (as currently written)
  • Final read in May SBOE meeting, likely to have revisions before then.

Educator Licensure Policy

  • Many changes to both educator licensure policy and guidance this academic year!
  • Additional Endorsements - most educators can add any non-SPED licensure by assessment OR coursework.
  • SPED can add SPED by assessment OR coursework
  • EPP determines content knowledge in the instance of adding by coursework only.
