  • It will simplify communication between Food Bank, donors and charity organizations
  • It will speed up receiving shipments
  • It will reduce paper work
  • It will reduce workload of employees working for Food Bank, donors and charity organizations

Other features we considered:

  • Labeling the packages, bags, containers (not feasible in PL)
  • Measuring temperature in freezers, coolers (there are already systems for that)
  • Dates/time for transport
  • Website
  • Chose potential receiving organization based on variables (recently supported organization, critical need of organization, size of organization etc.)

Conclusions:

  • It’s easier for the potential donors to actually donate food
  • People in food banks, charities and donors waste less time trying to reach the right people or on paperwork…
  • …so they have more time to save food from being wasted and deliver it to people in need
