In these three days, we developed concepts for 2 games. We focused on the world buildup, the story, the gameplay and the rules.

The Martian Multination game is a strategy game for school students. Our main goal was to educate the player about the different landscapes and missions sent to Mars, as well as how the human body copes with Mars’ conditions. We didn’t want the information to be given directly however, which is why we made it into a strategy game where the player purpose is to get the 5 nations that are on Mars now to cooperate and work in harmony to prevent a greater danger and maximize benefits.

Currently the player can only play as a good politician from nation 3. in the future, we will add more nations of all kinds and the player can choose any nation they want (it could be a good one, an evil one) and how their nation choice would affect the plot. We also want to make it into a multiplayer game.

In It’s Perfect But.. Game, we wanted to put the player on the spot of a decision maker. Our main goal was to educate the player about what elements play a role in proceeding or aborting missions. We created different scenarios of different missions, some are futuristic and others are currently occurring. The first set contains the mission and a good condition, the second set of cards contains another good conditions whereas the third set always contains malfunctions or critical conditions. The opponent chooses a group of cards for the player and the player must decide within a time limit. A third player can play as a neutral party where they judge players’ decisions and give them/take away points accordingly.

In the future we will add more missions and conditions. In addition to adding Vr aspect where the player can see objects on the cards via their phones. It’s currently a card game, we aim to make it playable on multiple medians.

Team thoughts:

We didn’t know each other prior the challenge. We came together on the spot, it was a very enriching experience. We learned from each other and worked together perfectly in harmony. We came up with many games’ ideas but we settled for these two. We liked working together to the point that we aim on further develop these two games and develop the other ideas that we had. Mind you two of the team members have never participated in a similar challenge or hackathons, but they fell in the trap now ☺.
