Narration/Voiceover/SoundFX: Hi, I’m Harrison, the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. Let’s talk about organization strategy. At its most basic level, a strategy is a plan of action designed to achieve a particular set of objectives. You look at the eternal environment and internal organization to create your strategic advantage. Three important questions to answer to determine what kind of strategy we need. First, What is our present situation or where are we now? Second, Where do we want to go? And third, how do we plan to get there? It’s important to consider similar questions regarding our human resources. First, Who do we have now? Second, Who do we need to add to the team? And third, how do we plan to hire, retain, train or otherwise acquire the employees we need but don’t have? A strategy statement sounds like this, Our strategy is to differentiate through exceptional service, operational efficiency, and continuous innovation that anticipates customer needs and builds loyalty. And that is Strategy. Thanks for coming by.

Narration/Voiceover/SoundFX: Hi there, I’m David the Chef Operating Officer. I want to talk about vision. A vision is what we expect to become as an organization at a particular point in time in the future. It is not specific in that it doesn’t say how we’re going to achieve it. It is who we are, what we stand for, what we believe in, and what we want to become. A vision provides a focus point for the future, it tells the company where it is headed. The vision answers the question, What do we want to become as an organization? Leaders must share the organization vision with employees to ensure everyone is focused on the same future and work towards the same end state. Here’s an example of a vision statement for an organization that is customer service, hospitality focused: to deliver exceptional experiences that make every customer feel valued, understood, and inspired to return. That’s vision; what we expect to become as an organization at a particular point in time in the future.

Narration/Voiceover/SoundFX: Hi there. I’m Emery the CFO and I want to talk about the mission statement. The mission statement lays out our expectations of what we’re going to do in order to become the organization that we have envisioned. The mission is more specific than the vision. The mission statement takes into account things like whom we serve in terms of customer groups, types of products and services, and how we serve them. Fundamentally, it answers the question, What do we need to do in order to become what we have envisioned? A mission statement example is Our mission is to create meaningful memorable interactions by responding with care, meeting needs quickly, and consistently exceeding customer expectations. That’s a peek at the mission statement; remember it lays out our expectations of what we’re going to do in order to become the organization that we have envisioned.

Narration/Voiceover/SoundFX: Hi there. I’m Judy the Chief Marketing Officer and I want to talk about Objectives. Objectives state what is to be accomplished in singular, specific, and measurable terms, with a target date. After developing our vision and mission, the next step is to set the objectives the come from the mission to address strategic issues. Successful managers have a goal orientation, which means they set and achieve objectives. Before developing any plan, begin with the end result you want to accomplish. Refer back to your text book on setting objectives to see an easy formula to write your own objective. That’s objectives, remember they state what is to be accomplished in singular, specific, and measurable terms, with a target date.

Narration/Voiceover/SoundFX: Hi there. I’m Florin the Facilities Manager. I’m going to talk a moment about conflict. Conflict is simply the act of being opposed to another. Conflict occurs in interactions between individuals. Healthy conflict is constructive, respectful, and focused on the issue, not the person. It leads to better decisions, stronger relationships, and continuous improvement. Conflict is harmful when it becomes personal, reduces productivity, escalates instead of resolving and when the same issues keep resurfacing. Always aim for healthy conflict, when you are a leader ensure conflict is managed to ensure it is healthy and productive.
