7th and 8th Grade Elective

Who Should Sign Up?

Any 7th or 8th graders with a desire to learn about the habitats and organisms in the ocean. Anyone with an interest in learning how modern scientists conduct research, collect and analyze data, and how to get the public interested in protecting natural environments.

What is this elective?

A semester long deep dive into the world of marine biology! With an emphasis on the practices of ocean exploration, water chemistry, conservation and the study of marine species!

Activities

Planned field trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium

Water Chemistry Labs

Lessons on physical oceanography, biochemistry, and evolution of marine body systems
