Group Gratitude: Hot Seat (20 min total exercise)

Groups that are going through a transition are already likely small in size. If you have a smaller group, run this exercise by putting each member in the hot seat to get collective group gratitude.

Objective: Have a moment of gratitude and appreciation among the group.

Process:

Share with the group that you want to take the next few minutes to honor the contributions everyone has made through gratitude.
Share that you will go through the group and put each member into the “hot seat”. While that members is in the hot seat everyone should jump in and answer one or all of the questions
Role model the activity by selecting someone at random to be in the hot set first and answer the three questions about them
Ask the rest of the group to now join in and share
Once the group has all shared, move on to the next member
As members are in the hot seat jump in with your own personalized gratitude for each individual
Continue with process until everyone has been in the hot seat
Optional: While members are in the hot seat you can share individual superlatives. You can share these before or after everyone has shared gratitude.
