Collection development is more than selecting and acquiring resources, it is about having clear intent to ensure that the collection serves the diverse needs of all of our students. It is about weeding out what is no longer helpful or true. It is about understanding our role, as library professionals, in ensuring that students’ right to read and to explore ideas freely are honoured, nurtured, and defended.
