Support

This work will be completed when we begin our live session.

Please work together in your school team to create a slide for your team that captures:

  • What do you need from your principals to continue to move the improvement work forward?
  • What do you need from the district to continue to move the improvement work forward?
  • What do you need from the IFL to continue to move the improvement work forward?

Please add your work to the slide with your school’s name. If (for some reason) your school is not there, please create a new slide. Your slide can look however you’d like.

District providing direction of curriculum delivery via IFL task sheets. Task sheets integrated into district curriculum instead of needing to develop our own task sheets (this takes a lot of time)

Exemplars

Principals should be supported to provide teachers extra time and resources to implement new programs like ILF that require additional planning/review/PD time.

Provide IFL training during the summer as part of DISD’s summer PD programming.

Time to process/implement/analyze current IFL work before creating additional task sheets

Dallas-area IFL meetings should be during the school day. Substitute teachers should be provided so teachers can attend.

PD on how to implement student interaction/engagement via online platforms

Lead school-level administrator training on the IFL program, best practices for implementation and data gathering practices with a calendar of action items to implement.

What do you need from the Principal? District? IFL?

Principal

Autonomy to do the work and stability. Using one platform consistently rather than switching. Switching from virtual to hybrid and then another scheduling change with flex. The switch in scheduling might have been confusing for students.

District

The district should be more sparing with testing requirements. Too many tests are required that interfere with instruction.

IFL

Continued support from the IFL. Low risk environment with lots of resources, space to continue to connect with other teachers. Not too many meetings. Prework in manageable. The support is very needs based.
