Substance use counseling referral:

  • Students are assessed via an FID Assessment depending on risk level, which then determines the number of sessions (Low risk: 3 sessions, medium/high risk: 6-8 sessions).
  • This also includes an interview/records review/consultation around current and past usage.
  • In sessions, students receive education around Substance Abuse, problem solving around coping strategies and role play discussions around social situations etc.
  • Weekly or biweekly individual sessions (20-40 mins)
  • Students are seen individually or in groups.
  • There is parent communication.

Current caseload:

OHS 36 students

  • Drop ins: 17 total (7 are SA-self referral)
  • 1-3 sessions: 3
  • 3-5 sessions:15
  • 6-8 sessions:1

AMD: 22 students

  • 3 students are on their 2nd referral
  • 11 current (3-5 sessions)
  • 8 new student referrals since last thursday (will be 3-5 sessions)

Inpatient/ Outpatient referral recommendations:

  • INPATIENT/OUTPATIENT SERVICES:
  • Referrals are based on an individual basis and availability of services (no wait/waitlist).
  • Consult with the Prevention/Substance Abuse Social Worker on referral recommendations.
  • After School Clinical Team
  • For ongoing coordination of services and supports

AMD: 3 (Ms. Albanese–teenIntervene)
