Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) and international campaign #ChooseWOMEN is a grassroots non-governmental volunteer organization.
Our movement educates and drives global support for the importance of empowering women in business globally. WEDO convenes Business Leaders, Change Makers, Government Officials, Civil Society, and People like YOU to collaborate and find solutions across entrepreneurship ecosystems, education, and policy creation to advance women leadership. WEDO is celebrated at the United Nations and in 144 countries and 65 universities/colleges internationally. When women are elevated financially, communities, states, and countries prosper. WEDO builds a global blueprint to alleviate and eradicate poverty.

We are proud to share that New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, New York Mayor Eric Adams, and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney proclaimed Women’s Entrepreneurship Day an official day on November 19th annually.
The U.S. House of Representatives every year recognizes our movement on November 19th as “A Day in Honor of Women Entrepreneurs” under the leadership of Congresswoman Grace Meng.

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) is a movement that carries throughout the year in support of women in business globally. WEDO ignites women leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to initiate startups, drive economic expansion, and advance communities worldwide.
Women account for 85 percent of consumer purchases and control $20 trillion in worldwide spending. At the same time, they perform 66 percent of the world’s work and only earn 10 percent of the world’s income.
Venture capitalists invested just $1.46 billion in women led-companies compared to $58.2 billion for male-led companies. Women only own 5 percent of startups.
The WEDO Summit is celebrated in 144 countries and 65 universities and colleges internationally! The Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) empowers the 4 billion women globally to be catalysts of change, and uplifts the 250 million girls living in poverty.
Only 5% of the multibillion dollar Web3 Industry’s turnover belongs to women. Less than 5% of crypto entrepreneurs are women, and only 16% of NFT artists are women.
UNITED NATIONS The inaugural WEDO summit in 2014 was held in New York City at the United Nations, with 144 countries simultaneously celebrating around the world.
WORLDWIDE Women’s Entrepreneurship Day inspired Elisa Gaudet to create International Women’s Golf Day to empower and engage women and girls to golf on a global level.
AUSTRALIA The Sydney Harbor Bridge shut down for Aussie WEDO Ambassadors and entrepreneurs to raise their voices for WED.
ETHIOPIA Ethiopia State Minister, Mr. Tadesse Haile and our WEDO team funded 120 successful women entrepreneurs in a boot camp.
SAUDI ARABIA WEDO hosted a nation-wide entrepreneurship training program for 60,000 female college students and early-stage entrepreneurs. 25 young women received funding to launch their own businesses.
SYRIA In war torn Syria, WEDO ambassador May Massijeh rallied over 300 women to empower women. She’s the founder of DaraTV, an educational children’s game, to introduce the next generation to science and engineering.
NEW YORK WEDO funded 1000 impoverished women with microloans to start their entrepreneurial journey!
UNITED STATES WEDO pioneered and launched the premiere Women’s Disability Cohort Pitch Competition, a visionary program that raises funding opportunities for women marginalized by their disabilities in partnership with 2Gether Intl. Google For Startups has come to fund the program!
WEDO played an instrumental role with reactivating The Interagency Committee on Women’s Business Enterprise Act in the Senate, a bipartisan effort by U.S. Reps. Grace Meng (D-NY) and Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL). ICWBE is responsible for coordinating federal resources to help women-owned businesses grow and succeed.
PHILIPPINES Our WEDO team educated 1000 rural women in financial literacy.
OMAN WEDO Oman Ambassador Sharifa AlBarami, Founder Al Jazeera Global Services & Investment launched the vote against the archaic practice of arranged marriage.
BANGLADESH Over 1000 women and government officials joined the WEDO celebration at the Capital.
URUGUAY A partnership with a local university granted 20 scholarships to the girls present at the WEDO Summit.

Our goal this year is to include 100 disadvantaged student girls to join us! We partner with an inspiring and impressive group of organizations that educate young girls. For instance, ReStart Academy provides educational services for girls in transitional settings, including juvenile justice, substance use treatment, mental/behavioral health treatment, social services agencies, and other involuntary settings. We hope to make their dreams come true by rallying sponsors on their behalf, giving these enthused young girls the exposure and opportunity to be inspired and network with successful women leaders, entrepreneurs, and business game changers!
