If you’re not sure if you’ve submitted your child’s registration forms and/or immunizations, check with me at the end. Your child cannot start camp without EVERYTHING on file. This is a DOH requirement.

Specials

  • Each week, each group will attend the following specials 1-4 times:
    • Swim, art, nature, sports, variety show, hiking, games, playground, volleyball, basketball, hockey, and gaga pit
  • Our art specialist will hang on to a lot of the art projects that the campers make to display at the variety show

Swim

  • Groups will swim 5x a week (swim schedules will be on the website on June 26th)
    • Groups do not swim on the Wednesdays that we have trips. We create a special swim schedule for the Wednesdays that we are on site (field day, for example).
  • Campers will receive instructional swim twice a week
    • We follow the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” program
  • Campers will enjoy free swim three times a week
  • Buddy system & wrist bands
  • Campers should be coming to camp with a bathing suit every day!

Speaking of Swim…

  • We are looking for a bunch of campers to volunteer to help us out with our staff orientation on Sunday, June 28th
    • 10:40-11:15 at Lewisboro Town Pool
    • We will act out buddy checks with the campers/counselors so that our staff can practice & get in the water with them
    • You’re welcome to stay with your child during this time
      • Anyone without a pool pass/daily pass will need to leave the facility at 11:15
    • Please sign up with me before you leave! We’re looking for 24 campers to help

Camp Day Essentials

  • Lunch can be ordered daily from Lily’s Snack Shack
    • $15/camper includes a meal option, a side, and a drink
    • Please send in exact change - we cannot be responsible for missing change
  • Keep personal belongings at home
  • Dress as comfortable as possible - sandals are not recommended for camp
  • Bring a bathing suit and towel every day
  • Water Bottle
  • Label everything clearly!
  • NEW THIS YEAR: Option to prepay for the season @ $364 ($14 a day). Checks for the full season can be made out to ‘Lily’s Deli’ and are due June 30th.

Parent/Guardian Essentials

  • Ensure your child is aware of their regular dismissal procedure.
    • If your child is signed up for the bus, that is their regular dismissal. A note will be needed for any pick ups.
  • You may contact us via email or phone with any questions or concerns. Please note, all communication will be replied to within one camp day, during camp hours.
  • We are not responsible for campers lost items, please ensure they are labeled and you discuss keeping track of personal belongings with your child. Counselors will aid but should not be expected to keep track of all campers belongings. We do have a lost & found located under the pavilion.
  • Please ensure you have notifications on for your ‘REMIND’ app and email. This is where you will receive camp updates. Any big updates due to weather-related location changes or an adjustment in ETA coming back from a trip will also be posted on Facebook and our website.

Trips

  • Campers will be going on 4 trips this camp season:
    • Quassy
    • Toy Story 5 in Danbury
    • Westchester Soccer Club
    • Harlem Wizards Game @ St. Luke’s School
  • Campers will have their regular two counselors plus a specialist to accompany them and supervise.
  • Our Head Staff will also be attending all trips, monitoring the locations and overseeing all groups.
  • In general, camp groups may split up into smaller groups at places like Quassy
    • This is to ensure campers feel comfortable with the rides they’re going on
  • Campers MUST wear their blue camp shirts to all off-site locations.
    • These will be sent home in backpacks the first week of camp.

Additional Expenses

  • Friday, August 7: Pizza Party - $10/camper. Gluten free/dairy free available upon request.
  • All trips require campers to bring lunch from home OR buy lunch in the parks.
  • Lunch from Lily’s Snack Bar (not required): $15/lunch
  • Variety Show items: we supply most of the variety show accessories but our specialist may ask that your child wear a specific colored shirt, a skirt, etc. for their performance. We will send this information to you halfway through the camp season so that you have ample time to prepare.
  • A white shirt for tie-dye day

Trips

  • 6th Graders will join Main Event on the following trips (Wednesdays):

Blue Main Event Shirt

  • Please make sure your camper wears their blue Main Event camper shirt on every trip - whether that’s on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.
  • These will go home with campers the first week of camp in backpacks.
    • There are no off-site trips that first week.

Monday/Friday Trips & Transportation

  • All 6th Grade campers will depart from Lewisboro Elementary School on Mondays and Fridays beginning July 6th - August 3rd.
    • They will be accompanying Teen Treks 5 Day campers on these trips
  • Bus schedules for both Teen Treks & Main Event will be in the handbook, labeled as “Monday/Friday” and “Tuesday-Thursday” times.
    • Buses will have clearly labeled signs in the window to note “Main Event 6th Graders” each day of the week, so there’s no mistaking which bus your camper should be on.
  • If you are dropping your camper at camp, Mondays/Fridays from 7/6-8/3 please drop them at LES.

6th Grade Staff

  • We have a dedicated Counselor Supervisor, Maria Valvano, who will accompany the 6th graders on all trips off-site on Mondays/Fridays.
  • They will also be joined by our Teen Treks staff
  • We have 2 counselors/group (4 total) and 2 extra adults, Ryan Fucci & Kristine Kaufman
  • 3 staff members are certified in CPR/first aid, and one of our Teen Treks counselors just graduated with her nursing degree
  • If your 6th grader requires medication throughout the camp day or uses an epipen/inhaler as needed, head staff will carry that with them in their dedicated med kits.

Parent Handbook

Waivers

  • 6th Grade parents will get an additional parent handbook, outlining all trips including information about lunches.
  • This will be out by Wednesday, 6/24.

  • Our trips that require waivers are:
    • K1 Speed, Gravity Vault, Thrillz/Jumpz, No Limit Ninja, and Xtreme Play
    • These will be available in our parent handbook and our website. I will email out once they’re available.
