สาระสำคัญ/ความคิดรวบยอด

หน่วยการเรียนรู้นี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายให้นักเรียนเข้าใจการถาม-ตอบเกี่ยวกับเส้นทางและที่ตั้งของสถานที่ นักเรียนจะได้อ่านบทความเกี่ยวกับการแบกเป้เดินทางท่องเที่ยว และบทสนทนาสั้นๆ เกี่ยวกับการบอกทาง ฟัง พูดและเขียนเกี่ยวกับ�ที่ตั้งและเส้นทางไปสถานที่ต่างๆ นอกจากนี้นักเรียนยังได้เรียนรู้คำศัพท์ต่างๆ เกี่ยวกับสถานที่ รวมทั้งหน้าที่ทางภาษา โครงสร้างประโยค/ไวยากรณ์ที่เป็นพื้นฐานของกิจกรรม การฟัง พูด อ่าน และเขียนในหน่วยการเรียนรู้นี้

การคมนาคมในแต่ละประเทศ

• ในประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา การคมนาคมในเมืองใหญ่ๆ หลายเมืองนั้นค่อนข้างลำบากหากไม่มีรถยนต์ สำหรับเมืองที่มีการคมนาคมขนส่งสาธารณะที่สะดวกสบาย ได้แก่ นิวยอร์ค ชิคาโก ซานฟรานซิสโก และบอสตัน
• ในประเทศในฝั่งยุโรปนั้นจะตรงข้ามกับสหรัฐอเมริกา ประเทศและเมืองส่วนใหญ่มีระบบการขนส่งสาธารณะที่สะดวกสบาย ผู้คนจำนวนมากใช้ในการเดินทางในชีวิตประจำวัน เช่น ไปทำงาน ไปโรงเรียน หรือการนัดพบกัน ในโคเปนเฮเกน ประเทศเดนมาร์ก ได้กระตุ้นให้ผู้คนขี่จักรยานกันมากขึ้นโดยมีการทำเส้นทางเฉพาะสำหรับผู้ที่เดินทางโดยใช้จักรยาน
