Kayn

"It is the order that will break you, Rhaast."

Kayn is a disciple of Zed who found and stole an ancient scythe that contains the soul of a Darkin named Rhaast.

They are both fighting to overcome the other to claim control of the weapon or of Kayn’s body

Kayn has three different forms, after his base form he can evolve into a Darkin, and gain healing, or into a Shadow Assassin, gaining damage and mobility.

Like in LoL, we wanted to keep the identity of the champion with the double transformation, with two different level up based on two distinct conditions.

Rhaast has durability and heal, he gets captured by enemy units in order to kill them mirroring his ultimate ability Umbral Trespass.�

Kayn has damage Quick Attack / Elusive with synergy with the elusive archetype present Ionia

Aatrox

"I stood against the void. Now... I would welcome it"

Ascended that went mad by fighting The Void, he became a Darkin that spreads war and destruction.

He is said to initiate wars only to feed on the blood spilled

Lore

Aatrox has high self healing and deals a lot of damage.

His gameplay revolves around hitting skillshot in a “sweet spot” during prolonged combat where he can gain back the HP he lost

Aatrox comes down with a high mana cost, since his arrival during the war signals the end of it, as such we wanted to render him a Finisher

He is hard to remove by combat thanks to a high body stat and the Regeneration keyword (in line with his LoL gameplay).

His final level up grants him a Rally effect every turn simulating both his ultimate in LoL (gain damage and movement speed towards enemies) and Lore (he is trying to assemble all of the Darkins)

Varus

“My arrows always find their marks”

Varus has the Quick Attack keyword like (almost) every Marksman in LoR.

�Since he revolves around casting spells as well as attacking we made him generate his most iconic spell Piercing Arrow. On level up he generates his Ultimate, Chain of Corruption.��His level 3 serves as a finisher by upgrading both his spells and generating them every turn, while simultaneously blocking healing for the enemy.

Varus is a Marksman who deals damage from afar.

He is able to corrupt the terrain and reduce healing and impair the enemy movement with his ultimate ability “Chain of Corruption” that spreads to nearby unit stunning everyone hit

Once a couple of lovers, once one was mortally wounded, they entered an ancient healing spring to save him.

They inadvertently woken up the Darkin Varus sealed inside the spring, he now struggles to gain control of the unified body

Vel’Koz

“Knowledge through disintegration”

We linked Vel’Koz with the concept of Corruption; debuffing enemies while he stays safe on the board.

As a mage his body is similar to Lux with medium low attack and medium health his level up is based on how much corruption he managed to spread.�He generates his most used spell “Plasma Fission” which is an orb that splits in two�His level up grants him his ultimate “Life Form Disintegration Ray” which in line with the LoL gameplay is a big game changing spell, adding damage based on the debuff on the enemies

Vel’Koz is a battle mage, a mage that excels in teamfight.

His gameplay revolves around debuffing the enemies before striking with his ultimate for added damage (a big laser beam that deals massive damage)

Vel’Koz is one of the first creatures created by The Watchers, his goal is to roam Runeterra and gain insight on his species by disintegrating them

Kassadin

Your magic is powerless against me

Kassadin is an mobile assassin who specializes in facing mages.

His iconic ability is a short range jump that can be used repeatedly for increased mana cost and damage; other abilities consist in dealing damage and gaining a magic shield or gaining mana

Kassadin was a nomad Shuriman before his daughter and wife were taken by The Void.

He decided to avenge them and entered into the Void, he was able to withstand the corruption and is now enemy of Malzahar

Kassadin is iconic for his ultimate “Riftwalk” which with a very low cooldown (but double mana cost) allows him to teleport short distances dealing damage on his new location

Like all assassins he has the quick attack keyword, he comes down with a low mana cost, he should control the board in the early stages of the game.�When attacking he generates RIftwalk, which allows him to swap with an ally dealing damage to his new blocker and corrupting him.�His level up grants him and his swapped ally fearsome to allow him to close games in late games

Rek’Sai

We kept her dual stance, giving her alternating forms Burrowed and Unburrowed.

Unburrowed Rek’Sai gains an Hunt effect, if triggered she cannot be targeted by spells since while using her ultimate “Void Rush” she can’t be targeted, this ability deals more damage the less HP the enemy has, that’s why on level 2 she directly kills the hunted target if he has less than 3 HP.

Burrowed Rek’Sai creates a spell “Prey Seeker” allows her to trigger hunt, and has Regeneration since in this form she recovers health

Rek’Sai has two different states: Burrowed and Unburrowed.

During the first she is able to sense the enemy presence and regenerate HP, and create tunnels to maneuver�Unborrowed she is able to attack an enemy while being untargetable

Rek’Sai resides in Shurima and is now trying to open a portal to allow her specie “Xer’Sai” to enter Runeterra, she preys on the nomads in the desert like a land shark, burrowing underground and attacking from below the sands

Kha’Zix

“Consume and adapt”

Kha’Zix is an assassin that specializes in attacking isolated targets.

His abilities evolve granting him various effects: more damage, invisibility, resettable engage / escape, ranged ability

Kha’Zix is a Voidborn that hunts and kills creatures in Runeterra to absorb their power and evolve.

He clashed against Rengar in the only fight that he didn’t win

Since Kha’Zix constantly evolves whenever he consumes a unit we kept his identity and his evolutions on abilities.

His most iconic trait is the added damage on isolated targets, we kept his identity by granting him attack if only one blocker is present, this buff on the attack increases on level up and becomes double damage in the end��His created spell “Void Spikes” in LoL slow up to 90% an enemy allowing Kha’Zix to reach them and slay them

Kai’Sa

“This skin lives on me, and hunts with me”

In line with her evolution, we provided her with different buffs linked to her evolve mechanic in line with her LoL skills:

  • Icathian Rain: Area damage that grants Vulnerable to the enemy hit (randomly)
  • Void Seeker: Target spell with more damage that grants Vulnerable
  • Gains Elusive (tied to her hunting mechanic)

On the second level up she gains Barrier whenever she Hunt in line with her ultimate “Killer Instinct”.

On the last level up she gains Double Attack on Nexus Strike

Kai’Sa is a marksman who can evolve her abilities during the game.

Her gameplay is based on applying a mark that triggers for high damage, her evolved abilities grant her more damage, invisibility. Her ultimate is dashing with a shield towards a marked target

Kassadin’s daughter she managed to survive in The Void thanks to a symbiont relationship with another void creature who now acts has her “second skin”. During her time in The Void she hunted creatures to gain their power

Kog’Maw

“Leave no scraps”

Kog’Maw is a Voidborn who spits acid, he came into Runeterra sent by his father and he was urged towards Malzahar to ally with him and bring forward the destruction of Runeterra

The iconic trait of Kog’Maw is his immense range, we wanted to find a way to make him deal damage without attacking directly.

Mirroring his scaling in lol he will come down with a fragile body and no keyword but he will create “Living Artillery” that deals damage and grants Vulnerable.�Like Ezreal, he has a lot of skillshot that will consist in most of his damage mid game, so he will level up following the same condition; obtaining Quick Attack, and gaining a permanent attack buff every turn

Kog’Maw is a late game hyper-carry, meaning that he starts weak but is unstoppable in the late game.

His abilities allow him to debuff resistances, slow enemies and deal damage from immense range.

Cho’Gath

“Who will be eaten first?”

With Cho’gath we focused on the devour aspect of his identity, generating his ultimate “Feast” that allows him to eat an enemy and strike him based on Cho’Gath Health (like Feast does in LoL).

He gains health for every unit he has obliterated, and has a level up condition on the based on it.

Cho’Gath works as an alternate win condition by eating the enemy deck once he reaches a high enough health.

Cho’Gath is a tank whose ultimate ability “Feast” allows him to deal massive damage based on his maximum HP, if he manages to kill someone with his ultimate he gains permanent HP

Cho’Gath is a giant Voidborn who gains strength and size by feasting on everything he finds.

Malzahar

“Bow to the void! Or be consumed by it!”

Malzahar is a utility mage, lacking damage but providing utility.

He can invoke void creatures to attack the enemies afflicted by his abilities, his ultimate suppresses an enemy dealing damage.

His passive provides him with a spell shield for added safety

Once a normal Shuriman he began to have visions of the soon to be destruction of Runeterra by The Void.

Decided to serve this cause he went into The Void coming back corrupted, he is now opening portals to let the Voidborns in

Malzahar is most iconic for his ability to summon void creatures.

We rendered him as an engine for Void aggro decks, which swarm the board with small units.

He is similar to Azir in body, with low cost, low attack but high health with the addition of Spell Shield given his LoL passive
