We are a small team of four standing strongly against sexual harrasment. In a recent study, it has been found out that a fair percentage of sexual harassment recorded is on children. Not only strangers ,but also neighbours, relatives, or acquaintances are found harassing children.

​

The main reason behind this is that kids don't even realise that they are being assaulted, which is why we have come up with good touch-bad touch(don't touch.us) to educate children about good touches and bad touches. We even have hardware model to demonstrate our purpose.

Our aim is not only to educate children about the above matter, but also encourage parents to discuss these sensitive topics with their kids and hear out their children every time, and not just disregard them and ask them to hush up.

How we plan to achieve it?

First of all, we need to raise awareness regarding sexual harassment and thereby teach children to differentiate between good and bad touches.

To achieve that, we have various kinds of informations in our website.

Understanding that there might be some situations, where it might be necessary for one to touch an untouchable part

(But this is only acceptable during an urgent situation)

Secondly, we have a 2d model in our website hovering the cursor on which will show you which body part is good to touch ,okay to touch and bad to touch.

Thirdly, we have a info-fun activity for children asking them to differentiate between the images.

Lastly, the most important part of our project- our hardware model.

  • It is a doll that detects touches using switches all over the body.
  • Upon detecting the touch it gives appropriate feedback to the user by giving visual feedback by lighting different colour led.
  • It also sends the touch type data to computer and can be displayed in serial Monitor.

WORKING

  • The push buttons attached to different parts of body are connected to microcontroller (Arduino Nano) touching different parts of body of the doll (here pressing the buttons associated with body parts).

​

  • It,then sends feedback to microcontroller and it has 3 leds red, pink and green describing a bad, okay and good touch respectively.
