Disclaimer

I am not a legal, benefits, or EDD professional. This guide should not be used in substitute of any formal guidance from professionals.

This guide is created from lessons learned in my experience in hopes it may guide you in yours, if you are in a similar situation. Please use your best judgment and reach out to the EDD, the HROps team, and/or HR Help team if you need assistance, as they would be best suited to answer your inquiries.

tldr; Please don’t sue me. I have nothing to give but my love for #AllOfUs. 🥺💕

Step 3: Answer your Week 1 Certification Questions. This is what mine looks like*

*Responses based on an official LDW (Last Day Worked) of June 2nd, 2023 according to separation agreement and me immediately starting to look for new work as soon as I got the news. Edit your responses accordingly to fit your situation.

Step 4: State if you want to log your jobs independently or via your UI Online account.

ICYMI (In Case You Missed It): Check out Felicity’s Job Tracker* (great for keeping your data analysis skills sharp) and TealHQ (great for AI insights)! These are great free resources to track your job search, each with their own unique benefits and should help you in case of an EDD job search audit request. *Reach out to Felicity if you’d like a walkthrough.

Step 5: Confirm your payment details for this period. Here’s mine*

*Again, this is based off a LDW of June 2nd, 2023 and having received 2 payments on June 2nd, 2023. Edit your responses accordingly based on your info. Make sure to have myHR > Payments open to help you complete this screen and the next.

Step 6: Make sure you have Coupa Software Inc. listed as your employer.

If you have this listed, click the “continue without adding another entry” text (this is what I selected).

If you don’t have this listed, add in the necessary information on the page.

Step 7: Add in your severance pay details. Here’s mine.*

*Make sure to only enter $999.99 for the payment (if you received over $1000), not the actual amount you received.

Input your information based on your unique payment details.

Step 8: Enter in your details for Week 2. Here’s mine*

*You can opt out of federal income tax withholding. I opted in since I hate surprises during tax season. This is entirely up to you what you feel comfortable with. Also, I didn’t move or change my number so I left that box unchecked.

Step 11: Add in your severance pay details. Here’s mine.*

Step 12: Verify/double-check all your answers (sorry no screenshot of mine for confidentiality), complete the acknowledgment, and submit.

Important Note: If you notice that some of the summary boxes are BLANK instead of Yes/No... you are not alone. I also had this UI display issue, but verified all my answers were completed and filled out properly in the previous pages (many times. #ThanksAnxiety). I left feedback asking them to fix this. (Fingers crossed).

Step 13: And you’re done! Come back within 2 weeks to do this all over again.*

*Optional: Take a screenshot of your completed page for your records.
