EPDP Phase 2 Small Team - Background

First meeting on 9 February 2022 – consists of interested Council members and EPDP Phase 2 members (GNSO SG/C, ALAC, GAC, SSAC)

​

Small team was formed to assist GNSO Council with:

  • Whether the Operational Design Assessment has correctly interpreted the intent of the SSAD recs and not overlooked any aspects
  • Its view on the concerns identified by the ICANN Board and potential options that could be considered

​

Small Team delivered preliminary report & recommended a “proof of concept” as a tool to evaluate and test assumptions.

�Council has recommended that the ICANN Board pauses consideration of the SSAD recs and to request ICANN org to develop a design concept for “SSAD Light” (proof of concept)

�Further consideration to be given to impact of this work on other projects
