Conception

The joining of a sperm and an ovum is called fertilization. This combined cell is called a zygote.

The site of fertilization occurs in the fallopian tube.

Every month, your body prepares for pregnancy. If no pregnancy occurs, the uterus sheds its lining which is called menstruation.
