1. "Academic Skills and Professional Competence" (ASPC) Subject Content.

The Academic Skills and Professional Competence subject is a compulsory discipline necessary for developing skills and competencies required by schools and universities. This subject is designed based on the main goals of education requirements in training specialists, forming teamwork skills, and developing research abilities in the educational process.

Education — education for students has a certain purpose, knowledge, skills, and abilities are given accordingly, their general and professional skills are formed, personalities are shaped that will serve society in an organized systematic manner.

Upbringing — at a certain goal, through specific social experiences in formation youth, teaching their principles, moral-ethical values, and forming personalities shaped in accordance with universal values.

"Higher Education" —

In the field of economy, science, technology and material-spiritual life, to acquire professional abilities, knowledge, skills for working in relevant fields, to form higher intellectual development that conforms with practical requirements of specialists.

Higher education is an uninterrupted education system's independent type. According to the Republic of Uzbekistan's legislation, in accordance with general secondary (11th grade) and secondary specialized, vocational-technical education basis, higher education institutions implement it.

The higher education institution implements higher education subjects according to state requirements and procedures according to legal acts. The Republic of Uzbekistan Cabinet of Ministers by the established procedure was formed and operates in accordance with its Charter and other regulatory legal documents.

Types of Higher Education Institutions in Uzbekistan

University:

    • Higher education institution providing one or several fields of education
    • Complete scientific schools and research centers are available
    • Fundamental and applied research is conducted
    • Scientific-methodical leadership center is established

Academy:

    • Educational institution at a certain field for developing education, where highly specialized personnel are trained after completing undergraduate studies
    • Research is conducted under development of skills in that field
    • Science, technology, art in the field of fundamental and applied scientific research is conducted;
    • Possesses its own activities in sufficiently scientific, methodical center status.

Institute:

    • Institution providing higher education from the beginning or continuing education for one or several fields
    • Research is conducted under development under specialization in that field;
    • Fundamental and applied research is conducted

Higher Education in Two Stages — Bachelor's and Master's Degrees

  • Bachelor's degree is higher education based on one of the fundamentals of general secondary education, lasting at least three years, providing fundamental knowledge, skills, and abilities, lasting at least three years.
  • Master's degree is highly specialized higher education based on undergraduate education completion, lasting at least one year.

Bachelor's Degree

Bachelor's degree is one of the main levels based on general secondary fundamental education.

Bachelor's education is completed after state exams and defense by students in accordance with state attestation results, after which students receive "bachelor" degree diplomas certified according to established procedures and recognized by the state.

According to state and field standards established according to general requirements of the republic, the maximum capacity of bachelor's degree preparation, workload level, personnel formed in accordance with qualification classification problems and other issues are determined with "State education standards" and "Higher education specialists classification" classifiers.
