Why create a Chapter Google Drive?

  • You can save files for your chapter and then pass them along to the next president and committee chairs.
  • More than one person can have access to the files.
  • In an emergency someone else will still be able to access everything in the drive.
  • You have a chapter email address you can use as a contact email for your chapter website or newsletter.

How to Create a Google Drive

    • Go to Google.com
    • Click the blue Sign In button on the top right
    • Click the Create Account link at the bottom right
    • Decide if you want to open a personal account or a work or business account
    • If you select work or business, you’ll want to just choose the Gmail option since you probably won’t want to have to pay for the Google Workspace like NC DKG has.
    • Click Get a Gmail address
    • Enter your chapter’s name (or chapter name and the word president) in the name field. My chapter is Alpha Zeta so Google thinks my first name is Alpha and my last name is Zeta.
    • You’ll have to enter a date of birth
    • Create your chapter email address. I’d suggest adding NC or NCDKG to make sure it’s unique enough.
