Step 1: From the launchpad send out a short answer question.

Step 2: Wait for student answers to come in.

Step 3: Click “Start Vote.” Answers will go back out to students without names.

Step 4: See which answers get the most votes. Talk about why they are good answers.

Step5: Repeat for maximum impact.

Voting

Student's see everyone's answer anonymously and can vote for their favorite.

I usually say, "Pick the one you wish you had written."

14 of 66

Copy to a doc

I will monitor the voting and copy the response with the most votes to a doc, so that we can all see it better.

The writer can remain anonymous if they choose.

We talk about what is working in the sample.

Then we talk about ways to make it better.

Everyone revises and we play again.

Your type a code you create, hit shift+space, and your code turns into a block of text.

Comment Codes

It helps to have a generic comment for each rubric score, but I didn't want to write 20 generic comments.

I fed the rubric to AI and asked for a comment appropriate for each level for each criteria. Then I pasted those into a spreadsheet and edited them to fit my needs.

My prompt to Claude.ai

I am going to be scoring student work on a rubric. I want to provide feedback to students based on their rubric scores. I need you to generate a common set of comments I can leave for students for each score. So, from the rubric, I need you to generate a typical comment for each level of each criteria. The rubric has six criteria and four score levels for each criteria. So, you will write 24 different comments. Each student will get five comments, one for each criteria depending on their score for that part of the rubric. Can you help me generate 24 specific comments for each cell of the rubric attached.

(Note: Be sure to attach rubric and adjust numbers if your rubric has fewer criteria.)

31 of 66

  1. Paste the comments you get from the AI into Column B. (Not A)
  2. Vet the comments. Make sure they say what you want and would work well in most cases.
  3. Add the code you want to use for each comment in column A.
  4. Download your sheet as a CSV file.
  5. Create a new folder in ProKeys.
  6. Upload your CSV file to that folder in ProKeys

Note: Tags can be more than two characters, but should not be things you are likely to type often.
