Create Project Blueprint

© 2019 Udacity. All rights reserved.

A product launch is not just about deploying a beautifully designed, built and thoroughly tested feature. Your company needs to be equally prepared if not more to support every possible customer interaction associated with the product (e.g landing on your company website to learn more about the new feature)

Sprint Goal

Give the user the opportunity with configuration sections so that he can configure all the features that he needs

Sprint Backlog (list the prioritized user-stories from the product backlog)

1

As a user ,i want to configure the third party apps to have more reliable access from google or apple account

2

As a user ,i want to configure the color palette to have more beautiful UI design for my Eyes

3

As a user ,i want to have opportunity to configure more languages to have understanding of no English promotions

4

As a user ,i want to configure fonts in my app,as i have additional comfort from that

5

As a user ,i want to configure my 2-security for understanding that my data is secure

Sprint Prioritization Logic

  • Have a fully functional deliverable at the end of this sprint, where the feature can be accessed to start testing from the first sprint onwards
  • start doing the backend part and testing the API for all devices, which can involve several sprints

Acceptance Criteria

  • scenario oriented

user want to upload new project -> upload/ download new project ->click button add/delete->go to computer files or third party apps to make that

  • negative scenario

if user download something from sources that are forbidden or we have error to connect with -->say that currently unavailable or its not trust resource

  • rules based

add button disappears when user click on it and show available number of sources that you can use in terms of conditions of security policy displaying in alphabetical order

  • must have edge cases

if Your project is still have some feature ti fix --you could add timer ,that everyone can see how much time you needed

Assumptions

Product is available in U.S only and the MVP will be launched in English only

Product should have documentation(manual)

Decoding API Documentation

© 20 Udacity. All rights reserved.

As a PM, you will collaborate with the engineering team and provide guidance that heavily influences their development approach. When a product requires an API integration, sometimes PM need to be “technical enough” to understand the following to refine the solution with designer and development team

  • what information is available via the API
  • how is it available
  • possible pricing impact

10 of 19

LinkedIn Student Project

Based on the API documentation how would you update your solution and design?

You need to think about the integration of User flow, but make it different in the moment, if the user is not interested, save it and put the number(index) if the candidates that I find will be of poor quality

Therefore we need to make in your design for industries two remakes in searching and sorting users and saving all users that we find for the job that we interested in

Based on your high-level understanding of the API documentation, are there any details that you want to discuss with engineering to refine solution and/or determine feasibility

  • The first question will be how long the ATC module takes to develop for a separate program and how much it slows down the program itself, since any built-in module affects the speed
  • The second question is about recommendation on selected preferences, can we include that algorithm without any search activities for instance making first search with only data analyst in Canada and so on

Re-prioritize Sprint Backlog

As a PM, unexpected issues and new feature requests will require you to triage them efficiently and re-prioritize the sprint backlog without impacting the roadmap deliverables significantly

Issue 1: Landing Page loading too slow

© 2019 Udacity. All rights reserved.

12

Determine impact and criticality to prioritize issue

  • Metrics that show information that users have complaints related to landing page
  • Also have data that in last month we had at least 10000 users ,so we have some troubles with cloud services
  • Landing page is the most comprehensive in our website ,so we need to make it simpler

Issue is critical ,due to we have a huge amount of awful responses and churn rate is increasing

Next Steps

You would carry out typically using JIRA (ticketing tool), communication channel (Slack)

  • Update issue priority to “critical”
  • You need to contact our team and prioritize differently, firstly appoint an engineer for new recovery tasks in the jira, and contact them via Slack
  • You need to contact support managers via Slack and saying that you have update soon and some discounts features
  • You need to contact QA team to test it after engineers finished their work

Would you take additional steps ?

  • Ask our engineers know about domain and hosts from other sources
  • Maintain api without problems
  • Additionally can ask Ux/Ui designers to create second version of our landing page that could less comprehensive

Issue 2: Misaligned fields in Profile Settings

Determine impact and criticality to prioritize issue

  • Metrics that show information that users have complaints related to profile settings
  • Conversation with support team ,as they have seen many awful reviews connected with profile settings
  • Making several tests on Android devices

Issue is critical ,due to we have a huge amount of awful responses and churn rate is increasing

Next Steps

use ticketing tool (JIRA), and communication channel (Slack)

  • Speaking with engineers(frontend devs) via Slack to maintain our app and make proper remake in one week(JIRA)
  • Speak with our marketing team and support(SMM) via Slack and say to give our users some additional information and discounts if needed in one week(Jira)
  • Also communicate with QA via Slack team to test our app after fixing mistakes(jira)

14

Determine impact and criticality to prioritize the issue

(1 - Critical; 2 - High; 3 - Normal; 4 - Low)

  • Metrics that show information that users have complaints related to emails
  • A huge amount of questions about email code
  • Direct messages in comments under our post

Issue is critical ,due to we have a huge amount of awful responses and churn rate is increasing

Next Steps

You would carry out typically using JIRA (ticketing tool), communication channel (Slack)

  • Ask our employees from marketing sector maintain mailchimp or other app with same specificity via slack –one week for solving
  • Make testing after maintain for QA team ,ask them via Slack and give them one week for solving this problem
  • Talking also with engineers about hosts and pressure on the web

Sample Email Response

Dear support manager,

Unfortunately, there is still an error with the link from the mail, the bottom line is that the number of users is -86% who are not ready to enter our application because they cannot immediately receive their password or account code, to say globally, it is precisely because of this problem that our positive metrics are falling, if you have ideas or solutions, then I will be glad to hear, your product manager

Assessment and result

  • Reach: The sprint about should end in 7 days had accounted for the QA team member to conduct the thorough testing before the launch. However, due the absence of the member and launch bieng in 6 days to the stakeholder, makes this critical to be addressed

  • Impact: Lack of testing may have a huge impact as the launch hence the impact is at massive level Confidence: 100%

  • Effort: 1QA member required till end of the sprint Owing to above stated factors and their weightage, I would request other PM’s to pool in their resources

Sample Email Response

Dear Sir,

We can present a demo in 3 days, unfortunately it won’t work in two days, as we are trying to move to a new host, which is quite important. We also needed to make some adjustments at the end of the sprint, thanks for your understanding, your product manager

Handling Resource Constraints

18

List 2- 3 activities that you would carry out as a PM to unblock the scrum team immediately ?

  •  Determine the meeting purpose and organise will it
  • Send an invite with all proper information about problems from different fields personally to groups
  •  Communicate key takeaways and next steps with everyone

Since the QA team member is shared across multiple projects, how would you coordinate with other PMs to de-risk your project and raise appropriate visibility ?

  • Understand what others Pms are working on
  • Respond to inbound question about their product and ask questions about mine
  • Prioritize what the team should be focusing on
  • Test project

Since there is a potential risk, it is important to raise visibility amongst appropriate stakeholders

Communicate with internal stakeholders and say what is wrong with your project and exact information about the problem

  • Use competitive style as now need more time and we could make it only during the next week if negotiate
  • if we do not agree, then we will have to compromise, for example, three days to complete

How would you handle stakeholder feedback?

Feedback Assessment

  • Do you still think the product should be launched?
  • Are you sure that the daily notification will be the best option, it just needs another mini-sprint to implement it?
  • How much time do we have to bring the project to the required conditions
