🚛 Vehicle Specifications

  • Type: Light commercial vehicle (diesel van) retrofitted to electric power.
  • Acquisition: Retrofitting a diesel vehicle into an electric one
  • Payload Capacity: Up to 1400 kg.
  • Specialization: Equipped with integrated refrigerated boxes for cold meal deliveries (removable cooling boxes also considered at this stage).

EXPECTED BY THE END OF NOV.2025 🡪 Experimentation will start as soon as we have the vehicle

Charging Infrastructure

  • Type: 7,4 to 22 kW charging station with 2 ports.
  • Availability: Accessible for various EVs, primarily the retrofitted van.
  • Charging Method: Optimized smart charging, preferably during the night.

🎯 Purpose & Use Case

  • Primary Goal: Last-mile deliveries of cold meals (prepared with fresh, local ingredients) to institutional beneficiaries (ESAT, day-care centers, schools canteens, etc.) from the Lycée Agricole Campus Provence Verte warehouse.
  • Monitoring: Includes a telematics unit for data collection.
  • Educational Component: Fosters knowledge dissemination on short-circuit food production, energy transition, and peri-urban innovation.

ON-GOING : t0 evaluation

Logistics organization by the Lycée won’t purely change : they are more oriented on greening their fleet, their products, their local partnerships. The global strategy is quite virtuous already but we will ask them.

  • Carcaixent City Council staff will be responsible for collecting the products from local shops in the Municipal Market, to be delivered final customers.

  • Initially, the delivery service will be provided three times a week, although this may be increased/reduced depending on demand.
