The aims are usually categorised as general and specific:

a) General (primary) aim: the broadest dimension intended by the research.

b) Specific (secondary) aims: define specific research goals that successively complement and enable the achievement of the general aim.

General Aim:

To evaluate the conditions of Outdoor Tourism in the Northern Region of Portugal and contribute to the management and valorisation of the associated resources and equipment, providing the best conditions for the sustainable development of competitive tourism products and activities.

Specific Aims:

  • To analyse and evaluate the resources and supply associated with Outdoor Tourism in the Northern Region;
  • To analyse and segment tourist demand;
  • Develop GIS tools for outdoor tourism in the region;
  • Create a georeferenced record of supply and demand variables.
