A scrubber is designed to remove an assortment of chemical vapors and mist captured from metal finishing process tanks drawing them through a wetted packing media causing the chemicals in the air stream to come into contact with the water droplets on the high surface media resulting in mass transfer and clean air existing the scrubber.

Chemical laden air is drawn through the inlet duct either under the packing media on a vertical scrubber or in front of the packing media on a horizontal scrubber.

Sump liquid is continuously pumped to the packing media via a pump which wets the media and then drains back to the sump. This liquid can be PH adjusted using an automated PH metering system which senses the PH in the sump, adding caustic to neutralize the acids collected from the air stream.

Air is drawn through the wetted packing media resulting in mass transfer (chemicals entraining with the water droplets and then ending up in the liquid in the scrubber sump) and clean air existing the packing media.

Clean air is then drawn through a mist eliminator which impinges or removes mist from the air stream resulting in clean mist free air existing the scrubber

Pump liquid can be continuously recirculated through the packing media for approximately one month prior to it being dumped to waste treatment. Clean water is then introduced back into the sump. The level in the sump is controlled by a level control switch and solenoid valve

Scrubber Features

Meets the OSHA PEL requirement for chromium particulate inside the building of under 2.5 mg/m3 – guaranteed!

Surpasses the new Federal EPA emission mandate for hexavalent chrome of under .006 mg/dscm – guaranteed!

Surpasses the California Standard for hexavalent chrome of under .0015 mg per amp hour – guaranteed!

Extends the life expectancy of the unit to 20-30 years by constructing the bottom portion of the hood up through the 1st stage filter from Kynar® material

Reduces the amount of rinse water required to keep the filters clean. This minimal amount of rinse water required daily to keep the filters clean gravity drains back to the process tank as make-water, resulting in zero waste.

Eliminate cumbersome cartridges which break and require extra space to access – ScrubAir pads slide into a grid which is assembled in the vessels.

Eliminate cumbersome cartridges which break and require extra space to access – ScrubAir pads slide into a grid which is assembled in the vessels.

Clear hinged bolt-on access doors with convenient spin-off knobs to allow access to all components of the unit.

Magnehelic gauges on each stage with one transmitting magnehelic gauge designed to monitor the pressure drop across the combined 4 stages and display it on the PLC touchscreen in the control panel provided by ScrubAirThis must be recorded daily per EPA requirements!

Eliminates excessive maintenance normally associated with composite mesh pad systems. ScrubAir uses a unique gradual particulate step-down design that will typically operate continuously for at least six months to one year without requiring manual cleaning of the filters. Each tank has its own control device, so that the other tanks can remain in operation while individual units are being serviced. Easier to maintain because the filters and spare parts are smaller.

Eliminate excessive maintenance normally associated with composite mesh pad systems – ScrubAir unique gradual step-down design Chrome Separators are proven to require the least amount of maintenance of any composite mesh pad system in the industry.
