Favorite thing about Chabot: I love how the Chabot staff and families have built a community where my kids are excited to go to school everyday.

Fun fact(s): As a kid, I used to love playing school and pretend to be a teacher. Although life has taken a different course, I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the school in different ways and explore my creative talents.

Fun fact(s): I attended Chabot Elementary as a kiddo! I’m a part-time yard duty at Chabot and I enjoy getting to know the students while watching them grow.

Favorite thing about Chabot: Chabot is amazing because of the people that give their time and energy to make the school the best it can possibly be.

Fun fact(s): My family owns The Prize Booth toy store in Castro Valley that opened in 2023. I’m also a voice over artist and actor that you may have seen (or heard) in your Instagram or TikTok feed.

Favorite thing about Chabot: The teachers are the best - they are caring, patient and dedicated. We have met lots of great families that have become friends.

Fun fact(s): I learned how to ride a bike at age 35 and now I am riding trails in Yosemite and Lake Chabot. It is never too late to learn something new.

Favorite thing about Chabot: Above all & foremost, we are a family. We come together in unity, building a community that stands strong for our students, our staff, & our families. To the present, for our future & looking back at our passed. Chabot stands strong! PAW POWER!

Fun fact(s): I am a Chabot Alumni!! Love to build things and teach dancing (Greek Folk Dance, Zumba, Zumba Strong instructor). Playing scrabble with my husband is my preferred date. My family and I are passionate about cuisines around the world. Disliked & never drank coffee until I had kids!

Favorite thing about Chabot: The amazing community we have! With parents, teachers, staff, and current and former students all working together to make this the best school around!

Fun fact(s): I am a Castro Valley native, attending Chabot and transferring to Stanton when it opened back up in the late 1980s. I love camping and crafting and baking and all things Disney. Also, I apparently don’t take enough photos with my kids (this is from two summers ago!)

Favorite thing about Chabot: My high school mascot was a Fighting Zebra, it’s fun to have a mascot that’s on top of the food chain.

Fun fact(s): I got invited to a comedy show for saving a comedian’s crew from a large food bill; I’ve ran down the side of half dome. I can talk shop about hip-hop.

Last year it was estimated Parents Club would bring in $78,750

The final total income was close: $77,788.63

Big fundraisers and other sources of income included:

Local venue (restaurants, food trucks, mini-golf) - $2,679.73

Parents Night Out + Auction - $6,733.53

Shriek A Rama - $11,011.32

Tigerthon - $43,345.05

Membership - $7,195.10

Employer Matching Donations - $1,600

Last year Parents Club had an ambitious spend goal of $196,271.48

The final total spend was much less: $111,290.28

Key items funded by Parents Club

Replacement curtain on the stage in the MPR - $14,825

Art and murals on campus (two murals and 5th grade legacy tiles project) - $7,103

Teacher/staff reimbursements - $9,081.33

Community events (Bingo, Family Dance, Light Parade, Movie Day, STEaM event, etc.) - $18,990.03

Hospitality (monthly staff meals, staff gift baskets, parent meetups, etc.) - $9,166.98

Field trip support - $3,540.30

General school supplies - $5,000

Student homework folders - $1,351.64

Proposed Spend for this year: ($142,225)

Key proposals:

More community art (5th grade tile legacy project, murals, and more) - $10,000

Extra hour per day for Genna/Office Assistance (ongoing annually) - $8,000

K-3 Science Programs - $5,000

Teacher/Staff Reimbursements ($15/student) - $10,275

Teacher/Staff Proposals (bigger ticket items) - $10,000

Increased field trip spend ($25/student, plus $500 additional for SDCs) - $13,500

If proposed budget passes and is exact, end of year bank balance: $111,642.03
