  • Creates an unhygienic environment that affects the lives of inhabitants of that urban area.
  • Acts as a breeding ground for mosquitoes and flies.

At the government level

Remap the cities in the following ways-

  • Install underground water attenuation tank in the affected areas of the city.
  • Install under ground pipe & drainage system, separating rainwater from the sewer system.
  • Design the road divider in such a way that it serve as bio swale.
  • Use the water absorbing concrete to rebuilt the roads.
  • Make cross slope on the road side which make the water away from pavement.

  • Avoid throwing the garbage in the drains.
  • Use the Installed garbage bins in each area.
  • Sale of polythene could be banned for a few months.
  • Identify the water logged roads and complained for their repairing.
  • Potholes should be filled before the onset of monsoon.
  • Repairing of the broken pumps in underpasses and subways.
  • Started a helpline number where citizens could report instances of water logging.
