On this day in 1919, Atatürk started the War of Independence. It is dedicated to youth and sports, highlighting the role of young people in shaping the future.
April 23 – National Sovereignty and Children’s Day
This day marks the foundation of the Turkish Grand National Assembly in 1920. Dedicated to children by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, it symbolizes the importance of sovereignty and the future generations.
May 19 – Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day
On November 10, people in Turkey remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the country. At 9:05 a.m., everyone stops for a minute of silence. Schools and people across Turkey honor his life and his work for the nation.
