Sudbury METCO Program

The 2023-2024 school year marks the 48th school year of Sudbury being a METCO district. This annual report will show our ongoing programming, highlighting student accomplishments and those events that have become traditions of our Sudbury METCO program. We continue to be grateful for the strong district and community support for the METCO program. We plan to maintain the high standards in both our programming and our student/family support. As we end the 2023-2024 school year and plan for 2024-2025 school year, our goal is to continue to maintain optimal levels of student and family support along with developing innovative programming.

SPS has been a Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunities (METCO) district since 1975. Our charter allows us 70 student seats. Sudbury receives grant funding from the Commonwealth which is used to fund transportation, a director, program liaisons, bus monitors, membership fees, and extended day/year services for students. SPS students participating in the METCO program matriculate to Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School.
