STAR Early Literacy, Reading, and Math are computer-adaptive assessments designed to give teachers, accurate, reliable data and validate it quickly so they can make a decisions about instruction and intervention.

It is important to understand that these test scores provide only one picture of how your child is doing in school”

Star Parent Report

Percentile Rank-

Scores range from 1 to 99 and express student ability relative to the scores of other students in the same grade. This is nationally normed.

IRL=a criterion-referenced score that is the highest reading level at which a student is 80% proficient (or higher) at comprehending material with assistance.

  • PR-Percentile Rank
  • IRL-Instructional Reading Level

Scaled Score

  • Scaled Scores are calculated based on the difficulty of the questions and the number of correct responses (0-1400)
  • The Scaled Score is useful for comparing student performance over time and across grades.
  • All Star scores/reports are derived from SS
