Simple Past Tense
Examples:

Adverb of time in Past Tense
Yesterday, the day before yesterday, last week, this morning, a month ago, etc.
Examples:
When I was a child, I used to fly kite.
Every time she heard particular song, she would cry.
Present Perfect Tense
Examples:
The rain has stopped.
I’ve just eaten my lunch.
Have you ever travelled abroad?
Examples:
I’ve been an English teacher since 2002.
I’ve been an English teacher for 15 years.
The students have learned English for an hour.
Characteristics:
Using of past participle
Using since, for
Using been for nominal sentence
The past participle of regular verbs ends in -ed. The past participle is the same as the past form for regular verbs.

I spent two days in a wonderful hotel near Toba lake. Lake Toba’s stunnig beauty is beyond words to describe. It took almost 6 hours to reach Parapat from Medan’s Kuala Namu Airport and another 30 minutes to Samosir Island but it’s worth the long Brastagi, so it’s no doubt I want to go there again sometime in the future. I took a boat ride and saw the lake and mountains. It was very tiring but the view of the lake was so georgeous. I hope your vacation has been going well for you too. There is only a week left of the Eid Ul Fitr vacation and after that we are back yo school. Would you like meet up sometime before school starts? Your friend, Melanie |
