Problem

As it stands today, the majority of our garbage ends up in landfills!

Waste recycling is becoming more expensive due to quality requirements set by main waste importers!

"Annual waste generation is expected to increase by 70% from 2016 levels to 2050"

The number one way to help MRF is by not contaminating your recycling load by “recycling” plastic bags and straws.

Manual sorting in San Fransisco

In 2018, China, stipulated materials must be sorted and uncontaminated.

    • 2016: 7m tons - 70% of the world’s plastic recycling per year.
    • 2018: 70k tons - less than 1% of 2016

The processing cost per ton is $82, versus a value of around $45 per ton

A dirty MRF recovers between 5% and 45% of the incoming material as recyclables. The rate for clean MRF is smaller

Why the current waste management cycle is not effective?

Competitors

Bin-e is a smart waste bin that recognizes, sorts and compresses the waste automatically. It was born out of the need for a smart waste separation solution in places where an efficient sorting system is hard to introduce.
