Sea Ice - Snow & Summer Melt

A session of great talks showing we are able to measure beyond the mission requirements e.g., summer sea ice freeboard, melt ponds, FF-SAR, and more!

We need to:

• Collaborate and coordinate efforts to progress even further
• Revisit the way we handle measurements at different scales
• Combine scattering models with observations to better understand the impact in snow
• Combine different remote sensing observations and machine learning methods
• Collect continuous reference measurements for validation
• Design campaigns to further explore the physical properties of ice, snow and melt ponds (including the Antarctic and Summer sea ice)
• Implement new findings in CS2 and IS2 data products
