As we consider our world
and its lavishness,
All of its beauty fills us with delight;
We can but marvel
with praise and with gratefulness;
Mysteries surround us in each sound and sight.
As we consider our world
and its graciousness,
We are so thankful for all that is good;
Love and compassion,
forgiveness and gentleness;
May we extend these in our neighbourhood.
As we consider our world’s
lack of peacefulness,
Violence, corruption seem rulers today;
Let us pursue honest
dealings with fearlessness;
Never agree to lead others astray.
As we consider our world
and discipleship,
Can we hear Jesus who calls you and me?
Struggling with evil
he calls us to partnership;
Working for justice and true liberty.
