INSPIRE Awards MANAK is a technological idea and innovation competition and NOT science project competition
Project title | Project description | Whether in use? | Whether unique ? | Whether Innovative? | Actual Project category |
Wind turbine | A wind turbine captures the wind, which then produces a renewable energy source. The wind makes the rotor spin; as the rotor spins, the movement of the blades drives a generator that creates energy. The motion of the blades produces kinetic energy. Kinetic energy can be used to produce electricity. | Yes | No | No | Science project/ experiment |
What is to NOT be Nominated for INSPIRE Awards-MANAK?
Project title | Project description | Whether in use? | Whether unique ? | Whether Innovative? | Actual Project category |
Wind Automatic street light | An automatic streetlight turns the light on and off at a given time when ambient light falls below a specific intensity. This uses transistor as a switch and Light Detecting Resistor (LDR) as an ambient light sensor. | Yes | No | No | Science project/ experiment |
Some more examples:-
Project title | Project description | Whether in use? | Whether unique ? | Whether Innovative? | Actual Project category |
Earthquake alarm/ detector | It is an instrument used to detect and measure motions of ground due to seismic waves coming from earthquake or volcanic eruptions nearby. | Yes | No | No | Science project/ experiment |
Project title | Project description | Whether in use? | Whether unique ? | Whether Innovative? | Actual Project category |
Vegetable battery | Vegetables do not have electricity per se, but they have electrolytes that can transport a current when sandwiched between two different metals. The classic version of this experiment involves a lemon, a galvanized nail and a copper coin connected to a small light bulb or a LED, but you can experiment with different vegetables and different metals and record the results. If you want to make your results more precise (and more "scientific-looking") you can use an inexpensive multi-meter to measure the precise voltage produced. | Yes | No | No | Science project/ experiment |
Project title | Project description | Whether in use? | Whether unique ? | Whether Innovative? | Actual Project category |
Drip irrigation | Drip irrigation is a type of micro-irrigation system that allows water to drip slowly to the roots of plants, either from above the soil surface or buried below the surface. The aim is to save the water and nutrients by watering directly into the root of plants. | Yes | No | No | Science project/ experiment |

In the title of the project, a suitable title describing the project should be given (for example “A device to climb Areca nut trees”, “An assistive walking aid for the elderly”, etc.) and NOT a broad theme like Agriculture, Swatcha Bharat, Swastha Bharat, Digital India, etc.
In the summary of the project, the following points need to be included – what problem the project addresses, what is the project about, and what the advantage is. Please see the example below
Title of the Project: Travelling bag with folding seats
Project Summary: Many a times travellers have to stand while waiting for a bus or train at the bus/train station as the number of seats available are few. The student has developed a travelling bag where a folding seat has been incorporated. This can be unfolded and used for sitting while waiting for the bus/train thereby eliminating the discomfort while standing for long time. It will be especially useful for ladies and elderly.
