Declaration of Independence “Break Up”

Task: Put yourself in the role of the 13 American colonies and break up with King George III.

Include the four sections of the Declaration:

  • Preamble: Explain why you (the 13 colonies) are writing the letter
  • Natural Rights: Explain what a good relationships should look like
  • List of Grievances: Describe the specific things you found wrong with the relationship and how you tried to fix them (at least three)
  • Resolution of Independence: Explain your current feelings and final decision
