RTM PLATFORM

RTM platform’s features make it a perfect amalgamation of 3 categories of health systems namely (i) information management system, (ii) Decision Support System and (iii) Electronic Health records.

Electronic health records act as the core of platform where the all services delivered to beneficiaries is captured against each and every beneficiary. These information are used as part of decision support system for all stakeholders. For instance, based on the mother’s LMP, the mothers application calculates due dates of all ante natal check ups in the mother’s application. The third and last component is management information systems which compiles all data generated from electronic health records/decision support systems and consolidates these data for program management’s consumption.

Existing Information Exchange Mechanism

RTM system enabled information Exchange Mechanism

The existing mechanism constitutes of information exchange between all stakeholders as per requirement and is purely manual in nature. This existing mechanism can prove to be cumbersome especially at the time of emergency when multiple stakeholders need to be informed and updated on real time basis. To add to it, other vital information like health records of the patient would only be available with beneficiary and will not be available for ready access.

RTM system acts as an information exchange platform that sends out alerts to all stakeholders simultaneously and allows all stakeholders to access other relevant information required. For example, a mother not having smartphone informs her first point of contact (ASHA/VHN/Medical officer) during distress. The first POC can immediately raise a referral request for the mother in RTM system. RTM system will immediately send out alerts to all concerned users along with necessary details to relevant users (access to health records to the referred to facility). This mechanism can reduce the time taken for information exchange between all stakeholders while eliminating information loss in the process.
