GLOBAL ADVOCACY AND GENDER INITIATIVES
For years, we have been working with the Art+Feminism Campaign and SheSaid drive, editing entries in Wikipedia and Wikiquote for notable women and individuals who fought for equal gender rights. In this Women@Work Immersion, we recognize the different contributions of women in our society, may it be in simple ways or those that create greater impact.
FROM 2020 - PRESENT
Only 34.5 % of women participated in the labor force
In its 2020 report, only 34.5 percent of women participated in the labor force, compared to 54.8 percent of their male counterpart.
Women engaged in digital jobs receive 18.4 % less salary than men.
A study conducted by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies in 2022 cited that women who are engaged in digital jobs receive 18.4 percent less salary than men.
Most women in some of the less developed regions in the country work in the informal sector
NEDA study in 2019, most women in some of the less developed regions in the country work in the informal sector and account for more than 50 percent of women workers.
There is still an abundance of untapped information among simple women in our community that we knew would inspire Wikimedians to seek equal representation of gender.
In creating a world where everyone can freely share in the sum of all knowledge, they should also be part of it.
Women@Work aims to bring the Movement closer to them.
In this Women@Work Immersion, we recognize the different contributions of women in our society, may it be in simple ways or those that create greater impact.
What does this mean for us?
This immersion has lead us to identifying reading preferences by our community. Our team were able gather relevant topics for our Art+Feminism activities.
Addressing Needs
Women@Work is one of our campaigns that focused solely in celebrating women in our local community. We were able to bring the Movement close to them.
This campaign has brought us to positive linkages in our community. We were able to build a strong communication and network especially with women.

These women have collaborated with our work as Wikimedians in their own way, supplying us with relevant information about their work, their experiences as women, and inspirations for why they continue to do so.
The women@work campaign unveiled the beauty that lies beneath life's imperfections. It reminded me that life is not about merely surviving but about embracing each moment, both joyous and challenging, with open arms. The stories shared by these remarkable women served as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards a more equitable and compassionate society.
