Miramar Community College Courses

Students must have an overall gpa of 2.5 plus meet other requirements. Seniors have priority and are allowed to take two courses each semester. All Courses earn two weighted high school credits plus college credit. These courses must be passed with a C or better. If you earn a D or F in any course 1st semester, you may not be allowed to take any course 2nd semester.

* Course meets a graduation requirement.

Courses are paired together as a part of the MOU with Miramar College. The ONLY exceptions to changing the pairing is if you have previously taken the course.

Assigned Time Home!!!!

What are the requirements?

  • Already earned 36 credits, prior to beginning of 12th grade
  • In good standing with a 3.0 or above GPA
  • Enrolled in at least one advanced studies course, Advanced or Honors weighted course, AP course, or CCTE college course during 10th-12th grade
  • Only one period

** Must enroll in 4 CHHS courses. If you would like assigned time home you can only take 1 CCAP/Miramar course a semester.

Summer School

  • Tuesday June 20th, 2023 - Friday July 21st
  • 9:30am-2:30pm
  • 5 weeks long to remediate D’s and F’s
  • Students may be able to take 4 core subject courses

  • Take advantage of these opportunities to get back on track with graduation or to stay competitive when applying to college!!

Getting Ready for College

  • Get good grades (Colleges don’t accept anything lower than a C)
  • Go to summer school if you have D’s and/or F’s
  • Complete the “About Me” section on Xello
  • Start thinking about what you want to do post high school (community college, four-year college, trade school, military, work)
    • create a chart with options
    • take Virtual Tours of programs you are interested in
  • Know that they are all viable options

What’s Next???

  • Students complete course selection in PowerSchool
    • Deadline: February 9th @ 8am
    • Counselors will meet 1 on 1 with students on February 9th and 10th
  • Late submissions result in last scheduling (unless due to illness)
  • In Spring, students will receive a tentative schedule and will be allowed to make changes within the designated time frame
  • Changes will not be made after this unless there is a gross error
  • No shows on day 1 of school result in drop from classes.
