Satisfaction of Live-Video Visits (LVV) for Early Intervention (EI) during COVID-19 Pandemic

Background

  • The COVID-19 pandemic shifted healthcare service delivery from being in-person to being remote.
  • A study was initiated in 2020 to determine the level of satisfaction for families using LVVs during the pandemic.
  • A survey was disseminated among Illinois families who received EI services remotely.
  • 133 families responded to questions about family income, race, and the services received.
  • Preliminary data showed that the majority of respondents reported satisfaction with LVVs

Recommendations and Implications

Discussion and Summary

  • Most families reported positive experiences with LVVs
  • There was no statistical correlation between income and satisfaction.

Limitations

  • Limited sample size
  • Ongoing changes in EI service delivery during the pandemic

Implications

  • Based on these findings, demographic factors such as income, race and services received do not influence the families satisfaction on LVVs. The use of LVVs after the pandemic can remain an option for the delivery of early intervention services.

Future Research

  • Future research could analyze other factors that affect satisfaction such as specific services received.
