The Life & Work that Changed the Age

4 words to summarize our fellowship:

Purpose

Life

Work

Age

2 of 7

Purpose

  • God’s purpose is to have man express Him
    • Gen. 1:26 – “God said, Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion…”
    • Gen. 1:31 – “And God saw everything that He had made, and indeed, it was very good…”

  • However, there is a contrast between the man God looked at in Genesis 1 & the man God looked at in Genesis 6

  • Hence, there is a need for a man, who’s life and work will change the age

Purpose

  • Let us read Genesis 5 - 7

  • So how about God’s eternal purpose? He’s not temporary, He’s eternal, there’s no variation in Him and He can not be defeated

  • But man had fallen down, down, down due to his corruption and wickedness

  • Man’s condition gave the opportunity for God’s grace to come in…

  • BUT NOAH…

Life

  • Noah had the kind of life that God can use to change the age (overcoming life aka age-turning life)
    • Noah inherited the Godly Ways of the Fathers
    • Adam’s Way of Salvation
    • Abel’s Way of Offering
    • Enosh’s Way of Calling
    • All the Fathers’ Way of Living & Begetting
    • Enoch’s Way of Walking with God
  • Noah’s life was godly and righteous, which could satisfy his need for his life; but what about God’s purpose, plan? Noah needed further revelation then (the ark & the generation) & today we need further revelation (the church & the generation)

Work

  • Ephesians 2:21-22 –

  • 21 - In whom all the building…is growing into a holy temple in the Lord

  • 22 - In whom you also are being built together in into a dwelling place of God in spirit

Age

  • Noah saw a revelation for God’s need to have the Ark to change the age
    • The building of the ark was absolutely against the tide of the age
  • We need a revelation of the proper church life needed for God to turn the age – we are here for the building of the corporate ark – the Body of Christ
    • God’s revelation will make us different. Everyone who has seen God’s revelation is different.
  • To build today’s ark, the Church, we must pay the price & we must expect opposition
  • Like Noah we are here building the ark, the Church, by faith according to God’s revelation in order to change the age. Praise Him!

Consider the following questions for further fellowship

  • What is God’s purpose and how will He fulfill it?

  • How can we have a life that finds grace in the eyes of God?

  • Why do we need a work which comes from revelation?

  • When will God change the age and who / what will cause the change in the age?
