  • Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School is a public school that serves both middle school and high school students (grades 7 through 12). 
  • Founded in 1964.
  • 1 of only 2 schools that offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. 
  • The school’s mascot is the Minuteman.

  • During the Revolutionary War, Minutemen provided a highly mobile, rapidly deployed force that enabled the colonies to respond quickly to military threats.

  • Locks are issued by the school so don’t buy one!

WHAT TO EXPECT…

  • 7 different teachers/classes
  • Different students in each class
  • Can use a locker to keep your books and supplies. MUST use a lock provided by the school. 
  • You get to choose where you sit at lunch (Inside cafeteria, courtyard, concession stand)
  • No recess, but some freedom after lunch
  • Elective options – that YOU get to choose, but they are graded/show on report cards (based on availability/class size)
  • Dress out/change for PE (required)
  • Before and after school clubs and sports

  • 5 minutes between classes
  • If you request a schedule change, your lunch could change.
  • A or B lunch is based on what building your 4th period class is located
  • You may not request to change your lunch!
  • 7th – 12th graders are mixed together at lunch
  • School dismisses at 3:30
  • School dismisses at 2:15 on early release days

What is Career and Technical Education (CTE)?

It is applied technical learning paired with academics and employability skills.

CTE programs prepare students for college and career opportunities.
