To align with the 1.5°C Paris Agreement goal, global per capita greenhouse gas emissions must drop to roughly 2.3 tonnes of CO₂ per year by 2030.

Finance committee highlights

High interest savings account with Oak Tree Banks continues to be a success (3.80% APY). Through April 2026 we have earned $5,006. 02

We are finishing the submission of the 2025 taxes with Lutz Accounting.

Expect large returns from Cadiz, although K.I.T. will be a significant expense.

Thank you to Meg Bruening (outgoing treasure) for her long service in the role and continued support!

Our high interest savings account with Oak Tree Banks continues to be a success (3.80% APY). We started to accrue interest in February 2025 and earned $3,296.25 in 2025 and $1,709.77 through April 2026. In total we have transferred $185,000 into this account from our Wells Fargo savings account (0.01% APY). Our balance has grown to $190,006.02.
We are currently working with Lutz again this year to submit the 2025 taxes.
Budget development was the primary project in 2026. This process will help inform our decision-making related to planned and emerging expenditures, such as website updates and strategic planning.
In late-March, we moved to Stripe for membership processing. K.I.T. supported this transition. A bank transfer is made on the 29th of each month. In April 2026, $3,491 was successfully transferred from Stripe to the Wells Fargo checking account.
Based on high projected attendance, we expect a large revenue from Cadiz, however the conference organizing team from K.I.T. will be a significant expense (more than in past years with Venue West).
Leah Carpenter assumed all Treasurer duties in September 2025. The past Treasurer, Meg Bruning, still provides ongoing support and advice when needed. We thank her for 7+ years of service to the Treasure role!
