Procedures for Additional Behavior Supports or if 3+ Support Calls

There is an indicator of concern from one of the below:

  • Classroom teacher sees repeated behaviors with tier 1 strategies in place and has/multiple attempts of communication with parent/guardian. Teacher connects with a member of the SSS team.
  • Student has 3+ support calls in a month on different days

*If 3 or more students with high behaviors look at a classwide observation/intervention.

Collaborative Reflective Conversation with SSS

  • Assets, relationship, known triggers, cultural behaviors, family connection
  • Concerns or behaviors, antecedents, any known cause
  • Plan one or two action steps

SSS Team Observes using Behavior Code Tools

Request CARES Meeting & Complete CARES referral

  • Invite parent/guardian
  • Invite a specialist, intervention or EL
  • CARES team will determine plan and consider Tier 2 intervention

If interventions are delivered with fidelity, data shows progress is not adequate, and other criteria are met, CARES team will look at Child Study referral.
